Our client is seeking a Communication Specialist in Orlando, FL
Role Description
We are seeking a Business Operations Coordinator to support internal communications, day-to-day business operations, and resource management for Disney Signature Experiences technology teams. This individual will partner with leaders, executive support, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations, engaging communications, and impactful events that foster a collaborative and connected culture.
The role will be focused on special requests and team needs over software delivery making it a little different than the standard technology type of role on our team. Please see highlighted responsibilities below and let me know your thoughts.
• Prepare and facilitate weekly status reports across the team
• Prepare and facilitate team meetings
• Prepare sizzle videos for new products and features
• Prepare special request decks for Resort Technology leadership team
• Lead, facilitate and define a sustainment strategy for new releases (this is a short term special request that when done I am certain something else will come up)
• Planning and facilitating team builds
• Planning and facilitating innovation challenges across the team
Resource Operations
• Manage the end-to-end job posting processes for Cast and third-party roles, including approvals and coordination with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers.
• Monitor hiring cycle times and identify opportunities to optimize workflows.
• Maintain documentation, workflows, and knowledge-sharing systems that improve efficiency and clarity.
Business Operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on planning and logistics for town halls, team meetings, and Cast Recognition events
• Event operations includes: Book rooms, schedule virtual links, test technology, record sessions, set up/take down, save digital materials, order catering/refreshments, manage vendor coordination
• Partner with leadership to prepare agendas, materials, and run-of-show documents.
• Coordinate scheduling and purchasing in collaboration with executive secretaries
• Manage logistics for Cast Recognition events
• Create and deploy digital assets to support events and team initiatives
• Assist with budget tracking Data & Reporting
• Track and report on communications engagement, event participation, and hiring workflow performance to measure effectiveness.
• Identify and report on trends, especially for resource operations Internal Communications
• Create engaging, visually appealing communications for internal audiences
• Source, curate, and share relevant content from across TWDC to raise Cast awareness
• Collaborate with cross-functional communication teams to align on content calendars, branding, and messaging
• Moderate online communities to increase engagement and keep a pulse on our team culture
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in communications, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in operations, communications, or event coordination
• Skilled at crafting communications with the right tone and level of clarity depending on the audience
• Excellent writing/editing abilities for internal messaging, executive updates, and creating digital content and presentations
• Proficient with collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Atlassian, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to shifting needs, and proactively solve problems
• Strong experience in Workday software
• Strong experience in data analysis and reporting
• Experience with managing hiring processes
• Experience in a technology organization
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot and/or other GPT platforms
• Previous Disney experience preferred
