Our client is seeking a Communication Specialist - Tech in Glen Allen, VA

Role Description

Executive & Leadership Communications
• Develop an early draft of a comprehensive communication strategy that is multi-faceted: department, all associates, daily technology operations, projects, etc.
• Draft and edit executive level communications including leadership updates, talking points, and town hall materials
• Support development of presentations and briefing materials for Technology leaders
• Translate complex technical and strategic topics into clear, audience appropriate messaging
Change & Transformation Communications
• Support communication efforts for technology transformation and organizational change initiatives
• Develop and deliver communications across multiple channels (email, intranet, presentations, FAQs, visuals)
• Partner with change management and project teams to align messaging, timing, and delivery
• Gather feedback and adjust messaging to improve clarity and engagement
Internal Technology Communications
• Create internal communications related to technology updates, releases, system changes, and planned maintenance
• Support timely and accurate messaging during technology incidents or disruptions, as needed
• Coordinate communications across initiatives to ensure consistency and avoid conflicts
• Develop enablement and reference materials to support adoption of technology changes

Skills & Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a professional communications role supporting internal, executive, or organizational communications for technology, IT, or digital teams.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences
• Experience supporting change initiatives, transformations, or large scale programs
• Familiarity with enterprise collaboration and communications tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, intranet platforms)
• Ability to quickly understand and communicate technology related topics to non technical audiences
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, technical teams, and cross functional partners
• Comfort working in fast paced, evolving environments
• Ability to work in a hybrid onsite model
