Superintendent needed for Ground up Education, Municipal, and Public Sector Projects in Raleigh, NC

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to oversee large-scale ground-up construction projects throughout the Raleigh, NC market. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex commercial projects valued at $20M+ while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and schedule performance.

Your new role

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from project start through completion.
  • Manage day-to-day field operations for ground-up commercial projects valued at $20M+.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Enforce site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site meetings with project teams, subcontractors, and owners.
  • Monitor workmanship and quality control to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction issues, conflicts, and schedule challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to manage budgets, schedules, and project objectives.
  • Review construction documents and coordinate execution of project plans.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, and progress documentation.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 5+ years of Commercial General Contractor experience as a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent.
  • Proven experience delivering ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $20M or greater.
  • Strong preference for experience on education, K-12, higher education, municipal, or other public-sector projects.
  • Demonstrated history of stable career progression and strong tenure with previous employers.
  • Thorough understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Knowledge of building codes, inspections, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating complex project schedules.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site full-time.
