Our client is seeking a Cloud/Edge Engineer GKE in Texas, TX.
Role Description
Job Responsibilities:
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (K3s, GKE), Docker, and container orchestration
• Cloud Core & Edge Core: Coordination between cloud and edge environments
• Google Cloud GKE: Cloud-native Kubernetes deployment and management
• Proficiency in API-first development and automation scripting (e.g., Golang, Python)
• Experience with K0smotron, Rook.io, Kube Edge, Cloud Core, and Ping Identity
• Shared Storage Systems: Rook.io, Super Micro/other hardware storage integration
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Fluent Bit, Grafana)
• Virtualization: VM setup and connectivity with shared storage
• Identity governance and implementing authorization & authentication using OAuth framework and OpenID
• Deep understanding of networking concepts: routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and service discovery
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git Ops, and DevSecOps practices
• Experience with edge deployments in industries like retail, manufacturing, or telecom
• Architect and design hybrid cloud-edge architecture that support low-latency, high-availability workloads across distributed environments
• Deploy edge clusters using Kubernetes (K3s) to manage and support ~1200 virtual clusters
• Integrate shared storage solutions using Rook.io and manage persistent volumes across edge nodes
• Implement K0smotron for multi-cluster Kubernetes control plane management
• Extend Kubernetes capabilities to edge devices using Kube Edge for real-time device communication
• Deploy and manage workloads on Google Cloud GKE for centralized analytics and cloud-native services
• Leverage Cloud Core for edge node coordination and data synchronization
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application and security teams to ensure seamless integration of edge workloads
