Chief /Lead Construction Estimator - High-end Residential Sector
Your new company
Specializing within the High-end Residential sector, I am partnered with a General Contractor that focuses on the interior renovation of townhomes, apartments and rooftop additions across Manhattan’s premier addresses, in addition to single-family homes across Westchester, Connecticut and the Hamptons.
Having been in business for over 50 years and consistently recognized as one of the country’s premier residential builders by architects and designers alike, they are looking for a Lead Estimator to oversee all pre-construction efforts and play a key part in growing and shaping the department.
Your new role
- Analyzing and interpreting architectural / design plans
- Providing detailed proposals and accurate bid packages
- Attending meetings with vendors, clients and architects.
- Capable of performing detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of a construction estimate.
- The ability to build a full conceptual cost estimate from architectural sketches/schematics.
- Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.
- Ability to negotiate throughout the bidding process
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and aggressive deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- A team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success-driven, yet able and willing to take direction.
- Oversight of more junior team members, management and mentoring along with hiring and succession planning.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal construction Estimator will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or equivalent with at least 8+ years of experience as an Estimator, specifically within high-end residential construction.
