CFO Position Available in New Jersey - Hybrid Opportunity with a Growing Company!

Your New Company
A publicly traded, sustainability-focused CEA (controlled‑environment agriculture) and consumer packaged goods (CPG) company is seeking a strategic, execution‑driven Chief Financial Officer to lead financial management, capital strategy, and corporate governance during a critical growth phase. This executive will partner closely with the CEO and Board to strengthen financial discipline, scale operations, and drive long‑term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, capital allocation, and growth strategy.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and profitability initiatives.
Public Company & Capital Markets
  • Lead SEC reporting and compliance (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements).
  • Manage investor relations, earnings processes, and institutional communications.
  • Drive capital-raising efforts across equity, debt, and structured transactions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, and legal advisors.
Accounting, Controls & Governance
  • Ensure robust internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial integrity.
  • Oversee accounting, treasury, tax, and audit functions.
  • Support Board committees, including Audit and Compensation.
Operations & Growth Enablement
  • Provide financial oversight for operational scale-up and manufacturing investments.
  • Evaluate M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Support expansion into higher‑margin CPG categories such as shelf-stable and RTD products.
  • Implement systems and analytics to scale a multi‑channel business.
Team Leadership
  • Build and develop a high‑performing finance and accounting team.
  • Promote accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Required
  • CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a public company.
  • Deep expertise in SEC reporting, GAAP, SOX, and corporate governance.
  • Strong capital markets and financing experience.
  • Proven ability to work with Boards, auditors, and external advisors.
  • Hands‑on leadership style suited to a fast-growing, resource‑conscious environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in CPG, food & beverage, agriculture, manufacturing, or consumer brands.
  • Background in growth‑stage or turnaround public companies.
  • M&A and strategic transaction experience.
  • MBA, CPA, or similar credentials.
