Construction Services Company based in Chicago hiring for a Business Development Representative
Your new position:
A fast-growing, Chicago-based construction services company are hiring a Business Development Representative to help drive further expansion of their services in the local construction industry. Seeking a personable and hardworking individual with 1-5 years of construction business development, sales or account management experience. The Business Development Representative will serve as the face of the company, responsible for identifying prospects and converting them into long-term clients.
Your Responsibilities:
- Generate new business by identifying and pursuing project opportunities while maintaining relationships with past clients.
- Manage outreach activities, site visits, and marketing efforts to promote services to general contractors.
- Oversee bid platforms (e.g., BuildingConnected, PlanHub), respond to invitations, and prepare proposals and pricing estimates.
- Track all client interactions, project details, and bid data in CRM and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate scope, labor, and supply coordination for client requests.
- Support scheduling, job mobilization/demobilization, and manage supply orders and equipment rentals with cost tracking.
- Provide regular updates and reports during internal meetings.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- 1–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a trade subcontractor or vendor strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and bidding platforms such as Salesforce, BuildingConnected, and PlanHub.
- Live in the Chicago area, and accessible to commute throughout the region for client meetings and events.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary in the range of $65K - $80K, assessed on experience.
- Highly incentivized commission plan based on GP brought into the company.
- Plus, discretionary end of year end bonuses based on individual and company performance.
- Monthly vehicle allowance, paid weekly.
- Montlhy cell phone allowance, paid weekly.
- Paid networking events and memberships to associations.
- 15 Days PTO, plus 6 Paid Holidays
- Eligible after 30 days to participate in our health/ dental/ vision/ and life insurance which
