BID Manager

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Bid Manager to oversee the preparation and submission of competitive bids for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality proposals that align with client requirements and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end bid process for construction tenders, including public and private sector projects.
  • Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to identify key requirements and risks.
  • Develop bid strategies in collaboration with estimating, planning, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Coordinate and manage inputs from internal departments and external consultants to compile accurate and compelling bid submissions.
  • Ensure all bids are compliant with client specifications, legal requirements, and company standards.
  • Prepare executive summaries, technical responses, and commercial documentation.
  • Manage bid timelines and ensure submissions are delivered on time.
  • Conduct post-bid reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future performance.
  • Maintain a bid library and database of past submissions, templates, and case studies.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in bid management within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement routes, and contract types (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bid management software (e.g., InDesign, Excel, MS Project).
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (preferred).
