Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil & Asphalt Construction

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of infrastructure and paving projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction project coordination, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and scheduling construction activities for asphalt paving, site development, and related civil projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain accurate documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Support budget tracking and cost control efforts.
  • Help ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with client communications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor work and support field operations.
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior project staff.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction project support or coordination.
  • Familiarity with heavy civil construction and asphalt paving processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
