Our client is seeking a Sr. Linux Engineer in Remote opportunity.

Role Description

Vulnerabilities come in via tenable and we remediate them, sometimes by patching, sometimes by configuration changes, sometimes by specific to application or package
Day in the life: System administration of Linux VM's, system deployment and configuration, system upgrades, vulnerability remediation, some Linux in Azure where needed

Skills & Requirements

• RHEL 8 & 9 Expertise: Advanced proficiency with installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in enterprise-grade environments.
• PAM (Pluggable Authentication Modules): Solid experience designing and maintaining secure authentication frameworks using PAM.
• Patching & Vulnerability Remediation:
o Hands-on experience applying patches using tools like yum, dnf, and Red Hat Satellite.
o Skilled in identifying, analyzing, and remediating vulnerabilities (CVEs) in collaboration with security teams.
o Familiar with compliance standards including CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG.
• Linux on Microsoft Azure:
o Practical experience deploying, configuring, and managing Linux workloads in Azure.
o Familiarity with Azure-specific services: Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure Monitor, and Security Center.
o Understanding of networking, scalability, and high availability concepts in cloud-native environments.
• Understanding of incorporating Entra ID into linux enviroments in cloud-native environments.
• Scripting for automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with configuration and orchestration tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Podman) and virtualization tools (KVM, VMware).
• Monitoring and log analysis using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Nagios.
• Posit / RStudio experience.
