Our client is seeking a Data modeler - Finance in Atlantic City, NJ.
Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Modeler with strong experience in Snowflake and a deep understanding of finance data domains such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will design and maintain robust data models that support financial analytics, compliance, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models in Snowflake to support finance-related use cases.
• Translate complex financial data requirements into scalable and performant data structures.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders, data engineers, and BI teams to ensure data models meet business and regulatory needs.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across financial datasets.
• Document data models, definitions, and lineage for transparency and compliance.
• Support data quality initiatives and performance tuning of financial data queries.
Skills & Requirements
Must-Have Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in data modeling or data architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Deep understanding of finance data domains (e.g., GL, AP/AR, P&L, balance sheet, cost centers).
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, dbt, ERwin).
• Experience with dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices.
• Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, GAAP).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Oracle Financials, or similar ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Python or dbt for data transformation and automation.
• Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
• Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced Architect).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working with cross-functional teams.
