Our client is seeking a Data Analyst/Data Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.
Role Description
We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Data Analyst / Data Engineer to join our data-driven team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in both analytical and engineering environments, working with massive datasets—including one with over 3 billion records per day—to build scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality, and deliver actionable insights.
You’ll be working primarily in AWS, using tools like Athena, EMR, and EC2, and leveraging Python, Spark, and SQL to support data modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis. While the engineering side focuses on pipeline development and optimization, the analytical side emphasizes data interpretation and visualization using Tableau.
• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using Python and Apache Spark.
• Perform QA checks and monitor data loads to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure (Athena, EMR, EC2) for scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate large-scale datasets.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations using Tableau to support business insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address diverse data needs.
• Support machine learning workflows and statistical modeling using Python and R.
• Evaluate the implications of code changes on data quality and downstream systems.
Skills & Requirements
• Advanced SQL expertise.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with Spark is essential.
• Deep experience with AWS services (Athena, EMR, EC2); Azure is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
• Experience working with extremely large datasets (billions of records per day).
• Understanding of data quality assurance, pipeline monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with machine learning, data modeling, and statistical analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse teams
