Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance Azure cloud environments. As a key member of our IT team, you’ll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and leadership to drive impactful cloud solutions, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvements in our cloud infrastructure.
***This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days onsite***
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design and maintain cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networks, and storage.
- Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-efficiency, ensuring scalability.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and support for Azure-related issues.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard data and ensure uptime.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, enhancing automation and agile workflows.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders on cloud projects.
- Ensure the security and compliance of Azure resources by monitoring and applying best practices.
- Serve as an escalation point for IT support and internal teams.
- Maintain security best practices for system deployments, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Perform other duties as needed.
COMPETENCIES:
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud platform
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proficient in scripting (Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of networking (VPCs, subnets, load balancers)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, Vault, GitHub)
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree in CIS, Computer Science, a related field, or relevant training and experience
- 7+ years building infrastructure and troubleshooting issues
- 1+ years Linux experience preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Azure Certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-303, AZ-500) preferred.
- Security training/certification a plus (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
