BROWSER STANDARDS
Criteria for browser support
- Any browser, device or operating system with >1% usage over preceding 6 months must be supported
- If we deem that a browser is up and coming and we believe penetration is going to go above the 1% within the next 12 months then this has been included in the standards
- Google Analytics data should be reference for the basis of the assessment (or equivalent if this has not yet been implemented) updated every 6 months and shared with the relevant teams across the business
- Global trends to be reviewed in parallel to see what is on the horizon
- When removing support for a browser or version, we should provide clear messaging that the browser/version is no longer supported when accessing sites
