A Heavy Civil Project Manager specializing in building and rehabilitating wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and sanitary sewer systems typically has a range of responsibilities and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management: Oversee the planning, design, and construction of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and sanitary sewer systems.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project phases.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure project standards are met.
- Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, construction workers, and subcontractors.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and sanitary sewer systems.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore), AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
