My client is a commercial construction company located near Baltimore, MD, specializing in general construction projects for federal, state and local governments across the DMV. Your new role

Your duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and other partners to ensure safe and efficient job site operations.
  • Conduct and attend meetings with employees and work crews to align with project objectives and schedules.
  • Guide and assist employees in identifying and resolving obstacles to meet project deadlines.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and other project documents to develop an accurate management approach.
  • Provide training to foremen, laborers, and other field personnel.
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify project scope, specifications, and compliance with company standards and local codes.
  • Document project work situations to ensure proper records for potential claims or liens.
  • Enforce OSHA requirements and perform safety inspections and weekly toolbox talks.
  • Inspect subcontractor performance to ensure contract compliance and adherence to schedules.
  • Oversee project closings, update punch lists, and create information for record drawings.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience: At least seven years as a Superintendent with knowledge of multiple construction trades.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications are mandatory.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in industrial and government construction is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong customer service, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be self-motivated and highly organized.
