Hays Facilities Management is partnered with a prestigious Commercial Real Estate firm located in Brooklyn to hire a Plant Manager (HVAC).

Your new role

The job duties for the Plant Manager (HVAC) will include, among others:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all existing MEP systems, including centrifugal chiller systems, absorption chiller systems, and boiler hot water systems.
• Supervise and support a team of Operating Engineers to ensure efficient plant operations.
• Communicate effectively with the Property Manager and Director of Property Management to address any operating and/or maintenance issues.
• Prepare and manage the annual operating budget, reviewing monthly expenses, and identifying cost overruns.
• Ensure compliance with FDNY/DOB and DEP regulations.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

• Minimum 5 years industry experience, at least 3 being management and/or leadership experience.
• Valid Q-01 Refrigeration Engineer and/or Plant Manager license.
• Union management experience is a plus, but not required
• Excellent working knowledge of plant safety practices, procedures, and requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot plant equipment.
