Our client is seeking a Director of Payment Processing & Pricing in Atlanta, GA.


Role Description


As a Director of Payment Processing and pricing, you will lead the payment operations function and work cross-functionally to implement best practices. This role will be responsible for ensuring that our payment processing service delivers value to our customers while optimizing our cost structure. You will support and execute on merchant consulting engagements by providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding credit/debit interchange and swipe fee optimization and cost management. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing merchant payment data from multiple card processors and developing and maintaining processes to further analyze payments data, monitor processing costs, perform interchange analysis, and identify payment issues and solutions. You will help develop forward-thinking interchange optimization and cost management strategies and tactics for large merchants. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the Company’s bottom line. This is a strategic role and a unique opportunity to build processes and best practices at a FinTech leader.


• Perform analyses to identify optimization opportunities that reduce clients’ card processing fees from the interchange, assessments, and dues and acquiring fees

• Identify, extract, and present the necessary data required to perform transaction processing and pricing analysis

• Inspect, clean, append and consolidate payments data from multiple acquirers, Discover and AmEx

• Update databases, and create tools, and libraries with findings from research and analysis.

• Desire to work with and interface regularly with the C-Suite team

• Communicate effectively to a variety of audiences regarding payment schemes and plans to optimize payment programs

• Merchant account services, vending payment processing spaces, CC companies, or processors.


Skills & Requirements


• Experience in a high-volume transaction environment

• Minimum of 6 years in the payments industry

• Demonstrate ability to form strategies and methodically execute strategic plans

• Demonstrated understanding of B2B payment methods and processes

• Hands-on experience and ability to use commercial banking tools and payment interfaces to track transactions

• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of Interchange fees

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. A master's degree, CPA, and/or another advanced degree is a plus.

• Knowledge of the payments industry, including payment processing, credit card interchange and scheme fees, and other payment methods.

• Highly proficient in Tableau and PowerBI

• Experience with a merchant acquirer, or have worked in a similar role within a payments company
