Our client is seeking a Azure DevOps Engineer (Release Management) in Remote opportunity.
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with expertise in integrating security practices into our DevOps processes and a deep understanding of Active Directory (AD). This role will involve securing Azure DevOps components, including Boards, Repositories, Pipelines, Artifacts, and Test Plans, while ensuring alignment with organizational architecture, security standards and involved in Change Release Process. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in safeguarding our CI/CD pipelines, Release process and optimizing our DevOps practices to support robust and secure development and deployment operations.
• Monitoring the release process, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or issues that arise during builds or deployments.
• Ensuring that all release artifacts are properly versioned, stored, and archived for future reference and compliance.
• Developing and maintaining Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to automate the software release process.
• Managing version control systems like Git, including branching, merging, and tagging strategies to support different environments.
• Coordinating with operations teams to ensure that the production environment is ready for new releases and that deployment schedules are followed.
• Documenting release procedures and training development teams on best practices for creating release-ready software.

Implementing security best practices within the release process to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
• Tracking metrics and KPIs related to the release process to continually improve speed, efficiency, and reliability.
• Boards: Configure and manage Azure Boards for agile project management, ensuring that security-related tasks and issues are tracked and addressed.
• Repositories: Secure and manage Azure Repositories, including setting up branch policies, code review processes, and access controls.
• Pipelines: Design and manage secure build and release pipelines, incorporating security checks and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Artifacts: Manage Azure Artifacts to ensure the security and integrity of packages and dependencies used in development.
• Test Plans: Implement and secure Azure Test Plans to support automated and manual testing, ensuring comprehensive security testing coverage.
• Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines that incorporate best practices for security, including automated testing, code reviews, and compliance checks.
• Secure the whole application in finding and fixing vulnerabilities from their first lines of code to their running cloud with Snyk.
• Easy integration throughout the SDLC process.
• Monitor pipeline performance and security, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure secure and efficient deployments.
• Ensure DevOps practices and Azure AD configurations comply with industry standards and organizational policies.
• Prepare and present reports on security posture, compliance status, and incident responses to stakeholders and management.
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate security practices into DevOps workflows.
• Provide support on secure DevOps practices, Azure AD management, and organizational architecture.
Skills & Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role with a focus on Security, Change Release Management, and Azure DevOps components
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps services, including Pipelines, Repositories, Artifacts Boards, and Test Plans.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) integration and management.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and security principles, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to problem solve and liaise with the business and cross-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
o Degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role with a focus on Security, Change Release Management, and Azure DevOps components.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps services, including Boards, Repositories, Pipelines, Artifacts, and Test Plans.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) integration and management.
• Experience with security tools and practices related to CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and security principles, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
• Release Management and Coordination.
