Steve
I left the Financial Services industry in 2000 after 10 years in senior management. I really wanted to move into sales within a similar industry, utilising many of my skills in a role with greater earnings potential.
Growing earnings and responsibilities
I joined the Croydon office of Hays Financial Services in 2001 as trainee consultant.
I took a £7,000 drop on my basic salary in order to prove myself in a commission-orientated role, but by the end of my first year my P60 was £5,000 higher than my best-ever year at my previous job.
Earnings have since increased year-on-year over the past six years. I have also grown my responsibilities and am now the Regional Manager of four offices.
Maximising job satisfaction
I firmly believe that working in recruitment provides a platform for motivated individuals to express their personalities, maximise job satisfaction and as a result their own personal earnings.
Every day is different. I enjoy finding a solution to even the most demanding situations and seeing this through to a positive outcome.
Then there are the team and pride factors shown by consultants working for a specialist recruiter renowned in the industry for being the best.
