Northern Counties Housing Association was founded in 1966 to provide Co-ownership Housing Schemes, an early form of low cost housing and has now grown to be one of the largest Housing Associations in England and Wales houses located throughout a large geographical area of the country, from Carlisle to North Wales, Shrewsbury to Nottingham and Grimsby to Harrogate with their Head Office being based near Oldham, managing over 20,000 homes.
Their houses and flats are not only for families and general needs, but increasingly for residents with special needs, self contained and other accommodation for elderly persons, flats for single people, homes for the disabled and larger houses for ethnic minority families are examples.
Local housing management is the key to successful service provision and it is their practice to have resident representatives on its schemes to provide every opportunity for the development and maintenance of good relationships between staff and residents.
