Hays Telecoms and Virgin Media raise money for chosen charity
On Friday 18 October, Hays Telecoms and Virgin Media spent the day battling it out on Donnington Grove golf course to win £250 for their charity of choice. The event was organized by Hays Telecoms, the UK’s leading specialist recruitment consultancy, and saw all participants complete 18 holes before sitting down to a well-deserved dinner at the club.
The winning team, comprising of Virgin Media representatives, Jim Kitchen, Mark Lamden and Tony Nelson, along with Lee Chant, Managing Director at Hays Telecoms, won with 82 points. The team presented the winning cheque to the Jane Scarth House charity, part of the Wessex Cancer Trust.
Lee Chant, Managing Director at Hays Telecoms, said: “The event was very enjoyable and we were pleased to present the winning cheque to such a worthwhile charity. We hope that next year we can defend our title and improve upon our points!”
Mark Lamden, Senior Programmer Manager at Virgin Media, and one of the winners, said: "It was a great day for a super cause. Jane Scarth House provides confidential counselling for those touched by cancer; we all know people affected by this disease and we know that the money will be used well. The Hays team spared no effort in making sure we all had an enjoyable day, everything was well-organised - even the weather!"
