TRIBUNALS AND TOAST

Breakfast seminars set to clarify employment issues and advise region’s employers

Two specialist businesses - both leading lights in their fields - are set to serve up HR and employment advice for breakfast in a series of free seminars designed to keep South Yorkshire employers bang up to date with employment law and best practice in recruiting.

Award-winning employment lawyer, Jay Bhayani, senior partner at Watson Esam Solicitors in Sheffield, has joined forces with leading HR recruitment specialists, Hays Human Resources, to offer businesses in South Yorkshire access to free of charge updates on issues relating to employing people.

And the first topic on the breakfast menu, ‘How to Avoid Employment Tribunals’ really sets the scene for the series of quarterly seminars which will cover topics as diverse as recruitment and redundancy - and all points in between.

“Tribunal culture is prevalent now,” said Jay Bhayani an employment law specialist at Watson Esam Solicitors. “Tribunals can be time consuming and costly and the best way to tackle a one is to avoid it in the first place,” she added.

Held at Hays Human Resources offices in Tudor Square, Sheffield, the seminars have been designed around busy managers and business owners and to fit in with the working day. “We know that Sheffield employers are keen to stay on the ball when it comes to finding – and keeping – staff.  However, we also know that time is precious, so each seminar promises one hour packed full of practical knowledge and tips – all before 9.00am,” said Gareth Smith, senior consultant at Hays Human Resources.

‘How to Avoid Employment Tribunals’ will be held on Tuesday 29th January 2008 at Hays Human Resources, 1st Floor Ruskin Buildings Tudor Square, Sheffield S1. For further details about this and forthcoming seminars please contact: Hays Human Resources on 0114 276 1970.
