CONSTRUCTION JOB MARKET GROWTH
Growth in the construction industry in and around Cambridge is good news for workers in the area, says local recruitment consultancy Hays Construction & Property. In order to meet an increased demand for industry professionals working locally, the UK’s leading specialist recruitment consultancy is expanding its office to accommodate the greater numbers of staff.
The latest expansion means that the office in Terrington House on Hills Road will now accommodate up to 50 specialist consultants. Fuelling this growth is the number of construction projects, which are currently underway in the area. For example, the £85 million Cambridgeshire Guided Busway which will provide an alternative form of transport for commuters currently using the busy A14 to get to work. In addition, there is a new research facility and offices under construction at the Botanical Gardens in Cambridge, which is worth £60 million. Construction workers across all disciplines are in high demand; however, civil & structural engineers, building services professionals, and tradesmen & CSCS Labourers are particularly sought after.
