Construction Boom Creates Local Jobs for Local People - Newry
According to the specialist recruitment consultancy, Hays Construction & Property, Newry is experiencing an unprecedented period of growth in construction. Private and public investment is at an all time high resulting in projects which are increasing in profile and value. In turn, this has resulted in a surge in demand for experienced construction personnel. Hays Construction & Property is hosting an open day on 29th May at its office on Hill Street in Newry to find professional staff for these projects.
Demonstrating the significant growth in the construction industry, there are a number of major projects underway. These include the A1 Belfast to Newry dual carriageway scheme, a £15m new build school development and the new railway station in Newry worth £12m. The open day hopes to raise awareness of the wide variety of jobs currently available for site management staff, architects, quantity surveyors and engineers. It will also offer workers the opportunity to find out about what work is available, what salaries and rates they can expect and what local employers are looking for.
