Construction Boom Creates Local Jobs for Local People - Derry
According to the specialist recruitment consultancy, Hays Construction & Property, Derry is experiencing an unprecedented period of growth in construction. Private and public investment is at an all time high resulting in projects which are increasing in profile and value. In turn, this has resulted in a surge in demand for experienced construction personnel. Hays Construction & Property is hosting an open day on 29th May at its office on Strand Road in Derry City to find professional staff for these projects.
Construction activity in the area currently includes the £33m redevelopment of Altnagelvin Hospital and two new build school developments valued at £30m each. The Open Day hopes to raise awareness of the wide variety of jobs currently available for site management staff, architects, quantity surveyors and engineers. It will also offer workers the opportunity to find out about what work is available, what salaries and rates they can expect and what local employers are looking for.
