BDP Award-winning School Design
BDP beat off strong competition to walk away with a top prize at the 2008 Building Services Awards. James Warne collected the Project of the Year Award on behalf of BDP at the glittering awards ceremony, sponsored by Hays Building Services, the UK’s leading specialist recruitment consultancy. Europe’s largest multidiscipline practice of engineers, architects and designers, BDP won the award for their work on the state of the art building at The Leigh Technology Academy in Dartford.
The Building Services Awards clearly show that there is still much to celebrate in the industry, now in its 11th year the awards are one of the most prestigious events in the industry’s calendar and reward innovation, excellence and professionalism in the industry. Judges were particularly impressed by the intelligent and sustainable approach that BDP took to building at The Leigh Technology Academy. Pupils and teachers at the school benefit from a series of measures that heat and cool the school while keeping carbon emissions to a minimum, as well as a cutting edge converged IT network.
