University of Northumbria- Award-winning Students
Two local students at University of Northumbria have beaten off strong competition to win top prizes. Paul Brown recently completed his final year of a BSc Architectural Technology course and won the Best Placement Award. Stephanie Rose, who has also just graduated from a BSc Quantity Surveying degree, won the Award for Best Dissertation. Both awards are sponsored by the leading specialist recruitment consultancy, Hays.
The purpose of these awards is to promote, recognise and reward excellence in the fields of architecture and surveying. Hays recently attended a prizegiving ceremony at the University to present a cheque and framed certificate to the proud students.
Mike McNally, Business Director of Hays, says: “A lot of people don’t realise that there is a shortage of qualified architects and surveyors in the UK. This prize is a small step to reward the next generation for their hard work. Not only is it great to support students to pursue a career in architecture or surveying, but we would also encourage students to explore the many employment opportunities that exist locally.”
For further information about employment opportunities in the area contact Hays on 0191 222 0044 or visit our architecture jobs main section.
