Local Charity Football Event
A team of consultants from the local office of international recruitment consultancy, Hays Construction & Property, recently took part in Kier Sheffield’s charity football tournament to help raise money for a very worthy cause. Supporters turned out in force to cheer the teams on at the Sheffield United Training Academy and the day saw some exciting and competitive football played by all involved.
Twenty teams took part in this year’s knock-out tournament, raising over £6,000 for St Luke’s Hospice, Kier Sheffield’s charity of the year. The competition format was designed to give everybody a great day’s football, with six-a-side matches played in four leagues. Former England football star, Tony Currie, was on hand to officially open the event, alongside Kier Sheffield senior operations director, Simon Bullen, and St Luke’s trustee, chairman of the Clinical Governance Committee, Dick Atkinson.

The Kier Sheffield Football Tournament is a great day out, as well as an excellent way of raising money for a really worthwhile cause.
