Welcome to our website and thank you for taking the time to read about our vision and why you should be part of it!

Yewlands Technology College is developing a skills-led, project-based curriculum and has developed a skills framework with our 'Family of Schools' 0-19 years – this includes a sixth form college and a special school.

In September 2008 our new state-of-the-art ‘school of the future’ will open, giving staff a flexible, adaptable and transformational environment in which to deliver learning.

All this work is underpinned by excellent continuing professional development, with a focus on developing teaching and learning, and on leadership development.

Staff increasingly have opportunities to teach ‘cross-phase’ from foundation through to 19 years.

As a technology college, our specialist subject areas – maths, science and design technology, work together to lead on innovation and transformation in learning.

2008/09 will be the beginning of a significant rise in standards as our longer-term plans for ‘systemic change’ start to impact on attainment.

This is an exciting time to join a new school that embraces ‘entrepreneurs’, ‘risk-takers’ and staff who have a ‘passion for learning’ that will significantly impact on the life chances of young people.
