We are now Swindon Academy!
A 0 – 19 school in the heart of its community
Welcome to the Swindon Academy webpage.
Swindon Academy opened on September 1st 2007, following the merger of the Pinehurst Infant, Pinehurst Junior and Headlands Secondary Schools.
This is an exciting time for all of us as we open the first 0 – 19 Academy in the country. It is a unique opportunity to be involved at the leading edge of educational development and regenerate a community which has been ill served for so long.
The sponsor of our Academy is The United Learning Trust who will work with our Corporate Sponsor, Honda. Both are very keen to involve staff in shaping our future, ensuring that we remain an inclusive school in the heart of its community.
The next stage of our journey will build on the successes of all three predecessor schools. Both Headlands and Pinehurst Infants have had recent successful Ofsted Inspections and results in all schools have risen to the best they have been in many years. This development is not, therefore, about failure but rather about success and the continuation of it given the challenges of the area.
We are looking to appoint committed, enthusiastic and talented teachers who relish the opportunity to be involved in a fast paced and innovative environment, making a significant difference to the lives of young people. We are a team which takes seriously the safeguarding of our children and young people.
In September 2009 we will move into our brand new building in the heart of the community. We will be able to see this building grow and develop into a state of the art facility which will be full service and extended. Until that time we will operate on the existing three sites. This will present us with a challenge but not an insurmountable one!
If you would like to come and see us in operation at any time or come and discuss potential opportunities we may have please contact Mrs Julia Ringrose, Personnel and Support Services Manager on 01793 747800.
Thank you

Principal
