About Us

St. John Ambulance is the UK's leading First Aid, transport and Care charity. Its mission is to provide First Aid and medical support services, caring services in support of community needs and education, training and personal development to young people.

With nearly 300,000 members in 42 countries, St. John Ambulance has diversified to meet local community needs around the world. In addition to First Aid activities, it has developed ophthalmic and dental care, primary health care, youth programmes, relief work and disaster planning.

What We Do

Young People

  • Almost half of the 45,000 St. John Ambulance volunteers are under the age of 18. We provide services for children from 5 upwards.
  • We provide support for schools in teaching children First Aid and host annual First Aid competitions for schools.

Care and Community

St. John Ambulance offers a range of caring services with diverse schemes such as our Young Carers and Breakfast Club Schemes for young people and our services for Homeless people in Brighton and other major cities. We also have riverboat services that offer people who are disabled, elderly or have learning difficulties, the opportunity of enjoying and learning more about the surrounding countryside.
