Projects > Rail Projects > Victoria Station Upgrade, UKScott Wilson Railways has been appointed as the Multi-Disciplinary Design Consultant (MDC) to LUL, the sponsor for the Victoria Station Upgrade. This £500 million project to increase the capacity of the station is part of Transport for London’s five-year investment programme, and is being managed, distinct from the PPP contract, by the LUL Strategy & Service Development team.
The key objectives of the Victoria Station Upgrade (VSU) project are to increase capacity of the station, particularly of the Victoria Line areas, so as to reduce congestion and equip the station to meet forecast growth in demand, to the extent practicable given the physical constraints of the site. The objectives include providing step-free access from street level, via the Victoria Line ticket hall, to all platforms including interchange movements between District & Circle line platforms and Victoria Line platforms.
Scott Wilson’s role involves developing options and concept designs leading to a single design to RIBA Stage D. Scott Wilson are also managing specialist subcontractors for key elements of the design including architecture (DRU and Hawkins Brown); cost management (T&T); Assurance (AIS), buildability (Morgan Est) and fire studies (Warrington Fire).
The commission will embody cutting edge technology with the use of 3D models throughout via Microstation Triforma, and document control via a collaborative tool extranet, Project Wise.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or to find out more about Scott Wilson in general please call the Recruitment Team on 0207 259 8780.
