Scott Wilson is a market leader in the provision of multi-disciplinary services to the railway sector. Our skills are such that we are able to undertake major multi-disciplinary railway projects worldwide. This focus on major projects is reflected by a current workload, which includes no fewer than 11 major projects with a capital value in excess of £350m and a total capital expenditure exceeding £45bn.

In 1995, Scott Wilson acquired the Swindon and Glasgow based civil engineering design offices of the former British Railways with 180 staff. At this time, work was UK based and confined to civil engineering. Now the scope of work undertaken has grown to more than 20 disciplines, 430 staff with work in 35 countries and a turnover exceeding £35m p.a.

Our unique strength is gained from a blend of specialist multi-disciplinary railway engineering skills and the extensive breadth of planning, environment and management expertise available within the Group. Our fully integrated services include specialisms in light rail and metro rail sectors, asset maintenance, station development, p-way, tunnelling, signalling and most other aspects of rail.
