Power

Energy and Power is one of the key growth areas in Scott Wilson. Our expertise covers the whole range of energy and power projects including thermal, hydro, nuclear, low carbon and renewable energy, transmission and distribution systems and oil and gas facilities. We provide integrated consultancy covering project management, engineering, environmental management and economics for all projects.

In the thermal power generation sector our experience covers oil, gas and coal-fired steam turbine plants, CCGT and OCGT plants, power/desalination plants, oil and gas reciprocating engines and cogeneration plants.

We are one of the leading international consultants in hydroelectric power generation. Our experience covers hydropower projects from 100kW to over 5000MW. Our other renewable low-carbon expertise embraces onshore and offshore wind farms, mini and micro hydropower schemes, biomass and bio-fuel projects, marine current power plants, energy-efficient cogeneration, energy from agricultural waste and geothermal power stations.

Our transmission and distribution expertise covers all levels of voltage to 500KV. Our nuclear capability is based on a vast amount of experience on new build, engineering substantiation and decommissioning projects for a number of blue chip customers.

Our oil and gas capability covers facilities and infrastructure works associated with pipelines, storage facilities, LNG projects, ports and energy transport. The Energy and Power sub-sector is developing dynamically to meet the twin challenges of globally escalating power requirements and the need for a low carbon future. Scott Wilson’s energy and power capabilities meet these twin challenges.

Our strong technical capabilities in energy and power are complemented by global Scott Wilson expertise in economics, social and environmental issues, sustainability and energy efficiency. Scott Wilson works to create value by delivering integrated solutions on the most complex of assignments.
