South Cheshire Enterprises Ltd, or SCEL, is a wholly owned subsidiary of South Cheshire College. With around 50 employees and a turnover of circa £2 million, SCEL provides a number of service-based businesses on the campus, including a theatre, an ABTA bonded travel centre, a shop, a refectory, and has recently won a contract to provide cleaning to the college. SCEL also has an education and training arm, which delivers high quality, profitable training programmes to diverse clients and has great commercial potential.

The college, with well over 11,000 full time and part time students, and 400 staff, boasts an ‘A’ level pass rate of 99.3%. It has an annual turnover of £18.6M. It is currently in the process of creating a new, flagship campus, which will lead education in the Crewe and Nantwich area into a new era. The college is being completely rebuilt on its Dane Bank Site to prepare it for the 21st century and provide a first-class education facility at the heart of the community. The £47M project, which is part funded by the LSC, centres on the creation of a carbon-neutral building which is environmentally sustainable. The new campus will provide an impressive new home for many of SCEL’s businesses and services, which makes this attractive opportunity even more exciting.
