ABOUT US
Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) is an affiliate of the SBM Offshore Group and one of the major players in the Floating Production side of the offshore oil and gas business. SBM originally made its name as an engineering contractor specialized in mooring systems in the 1970-80s period. However, since the quest to produce oil from reservoirs located under deeper waters has obviated the utilization of fixed platforms in water depths of more than 500 metres, SBM has become well known for the last fifteen years as an integrated offshore Floating Production contractor. We presently own and operate 18 offshore Floating Production units which are located in principal offshore locations around the world and leased to oil majors. These units consist of either converted and refurbished oil trading tankers or new build specials and are termed Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. Our work scope is large and covers all the sales, design, engineering, procurement, logistics, transportation, control of subcontracted construction, commissioning, offshore installation and production operations of our offshore products.
We are based in Monaco, South of France, where we have an Engineering Office with 750 staff, but we also have affiliate SBM Offshore Group companies in Holland, the USA and Kuala Lumpur with whom we work closely. SBM now numbers more than 3000 staff world wide. We offer very varied career possibilities in Design (Structural, Mechanical, Process, Hydrodynamic, E & I, Piping, R & D and Proposal engineering), in Project Management functions (Project Management, Procurement, Project Controls, Construction, QA & HSE, and Offshore Installation activities) and offshore Production ( FPSO Operations, Assets and Maintenance, Safety and Start-Up activities).
