“Peers School is rapidly improving”
Ofsted report 30th November 2006.
Lorna Caldicott, Headteacher said “ Peers School has always been well regarded in education circles as being an exciting urban school which has done innovative work. Its such an important school for the city and we are already working very closely with the staff and pupils to make the school the rising star of Oxford. It is going to be a well-run, happy, relaxed, fun, challenging place to be. I am excited by the prospect of working with the wider community to restore Peers to the place in education where it rightly belongs”.
The results are beginning to show, a report completed in January 2007, analysing GCSE results across England and Wales displayed Peers making significant progress.

Our success is down to the Senior Management Team seeking innovative ways in which they can develop the school. We have invested in the Consistency Management and Co-operative Discipline (CMCD) programme, which was developed in Texas and has already been used to good effect in the UK. The programme gives students greater responsibility for solving disputes, preventing problems and working together. They can also apply for classroom jobs to take on tasks usually carried out by teachers.
If you would like to join our school community then we are looking to appoint committed, hardworking teachers who relish the chance to work in challenging circumstances. There is no doubt the school is moving forward and that it has made a positive start, however there are demanding times ahead. If you are someone who sees these challenges as an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people, and you are ready to be part of the transformation of a school, then Peers is the place for you.
