Northfleet School for Girls is a lively learning community offering enjoyment and challenge for all within a secure and well disciplined environment.

Our specialist Business & Enterprise status provides us with additional resources in buildings, staff and learning opportunities, as well as enabling us to reach our to our community. Enterprise education involves problem solving, risk taking, team working and creativity and these underpin all that we do.

However, for our students to thrive, they also need to know they belong, and the strong vertical tutoring system, where students from Years 7 to 13 join together for daily activities, helps to promote a supportive and caring ethos.

We believe that every child has different needs and seek to meet them by personalising their learning paths and providing support – whether that be “catch up” or “reach up” for those with particular talents. We are proud of the broad and varied curriculum offered, especially at 14 and 16, but younger students also engage in a variety of learning opportunities from subject based activities to connected learning across domains and enterprise challenges.

We are proud too of that “bit extra” we provide through after school clubs ranging from netball, football, basketball and gymnastics, to history, Egyptology, French, art and gardening.

Whilst “Every Child Matters” we believe a welcoming and supportive school is best created by a belief that every individual matters. “Always learning, learning all ways” applied to everyone who is a part of the school community and great importance is placed on offering the staff chances to develop their skills and talents as well as providing for the community through Business courses. Many of the very committed team of support staff take advantage of these and other opportunities provided by the school.

As a school, we value what the local community can offer and regularly invite business people, community leaders, careers advisers, artists and other representatives to join them to enhance their learning.

Our strong team of governors also provides the school with valuable expertise, advice and encouragement in key areas such as finance, personnel and health and safety.

Building Schools for the Future will create an exciting range of new buildings and bring significant changes to our learning.
