The HR strategy underpins the University`s strategic plan “2020 Vision” and presents an exciting and challenging agenda for the next three years and beyond. The £250m capital programme presents the full range of challenges to the function including structural, cultural and systems changes. Workforce modernisation has commenced with the implementation of a new pay and grading model, which provides a platform for new and innovative ways of working.
Further developments will include an emphasis on workforce planning, reward strategy and the development of a new integrated information system. On the operational side, we are centralising recruitment and introducing the HR Business Partner model to strengthen the commercial impact of our role. HR Business Partners will be at the heart of structural and cultural change ensuring that leading HR practice delivers business advantage. Development of the workforce is integral to this extensive change agenda and will be a key priority within the enhanced function. Staff engagement and performance management will also feature highly.
