Location

Nuneaton is the largest town in Warwickshire and is situated right in the heart of England. Best known as the birthplace of the 19th century author George Eliot, there are a number of public buildings and memorials linked to her throughout the town. One of these, Arbury Hall, is set within beautiful landscaped gardens and is renowned for the quality of its architecture. A Britain in Bloom national finalist, Nuneaton has a rolling program of cultural events including an annual Carnival and Arts Festival.

There are many areas of natural beauty within the Warwickshire countryside. Hartshill Hayes Country Park comprises of 137 acres of woodland on the outskirts of Nuneaton and has been awarded the Forestry Authority ‘Centre of Excellence’ Award.  Further south in the county are the popular towns of Stratford upon Avon and Warwick famous as the home of Shakespeare ‘s RSC and Warwick Castle – one of Britain’s most popular tourist attractions.

Nuneaton offers a range of venues for leisure and recreation including a multi-screen cinema complex, sports centre, bowling facilities and a range of pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its live music venues and Warwick Arts Centre is also within a short distance. Nearby Twycross is home to one of Britain’s major Zoo’s, famous for its collection of primates and is an extremely popular family day out.

For those in need of retail therapy, the multi-million pound Ropewalk Shopping Centre in the centre of Nuneaton offers a range of high street and designer stores. The town has a thriving outdoor market and Fosse Park in Leicester and the Bullring in Birmingham are only a short drive away.
