About the School

Manor Park Community School was originally a Grammar School but changed its status to a 12-16 High School admitting students of all abilities. In 1996, it became an 11-16 Community School. Most students who attend the school live within local area close to the school. This community is ethically mixed and has pockets of high social deprivation. The school is popular with parents and it has grown significantly in recent years. There are now over 565 students on roll.

School performance has improved and standards have risen significantly over the last three years. Though the school experienced a significant dip in 2007 results rose again sharply in 2008 when we achieved our best ever GCSE results, exceeding all national targets and being placed in the top 25% of schools nationally for value added indicators.

In July 2006, Manor Park received a positive Ofsted Report. Here are a few extracts:

“Pupils’ achievements are good and most make good progress during their time at the school”
“Pupils make good progress thanks to good care, guidance and support”
“An increasing number of lessons are good and there are examples of outstanding teaching in several departments”
“The curriculum includes a broad range of vocational options and is good”
“Support for pupils with learning difficulties is good”

The school enjoys very good relationships with its Partner Primary Schools. It also works in Partnership with North Warwickshire and Hinckley College to broaden curricular opportunities for its students, particularly at KS4.

The school achieved Specialist Arts Status from September 2007.
