About Us

The London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) is one of the largest Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS) in England, with over 73,000 members and assets of over £3.7 billion.  The LPFA was established in 1989 as a stand-alone public body, to take over the running of the former Greater London Council Pension Fund following GLC abolition on 31st March 1986.

The LPFA is responsible for third party pension administration and other LGPS services. There is a current focus on administration for several local authorities including City of Westminster and Hammersmith & Fulham Council as well as the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority amongst other bodies.  LPFA is also responsible for the residual employer functions of the GLC, Inner London Education Authority and the former London Residuary Body.
