In April 2006, Lewisham College received an overall grade of ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in its inspection which resulted in the highest rating for any London college and positions us second in the entire country.

The College has a strong reputation for innovation and excellence, which was formally recognised by the awarding of Beacon Status in 1999. This government award means that Lewisham College acts as an example of excellence to other institutions in the further education sector. They have subsequently won two more Beacon awards.

The Colleges achievements have been recognised through re-accreditation of Charter Mark, Investors in Careers and Investors in People and have been credited by the Learning and Skills Council London East as being the most successful Employer Training College in their area.

Over recent years, they have also been judged as ‘excellent’ and ‘outstanding’ by a range of independent organisations; and in 2001, they were designated the UK's first Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in Computing and Information Technology. In addition, the college also has a CoVE in Hospitality which is housed in a state of the art e-kitchen.

One of the exciting and rewarding things about Lewisham College is visitors' reactions when they see for themselves the many achievements of its committed and motivated students.
