This is an exciting time to join Islington Council. The CPA, which is the independent Audit Commission judgement which scores every council in England, awarded Islington with three stars out of a possible four in 2005 and described the council as ‘improving well’. This is further progress on 2004, when the Audit Commission described Islington as the fastest improving council in the country.

Thank you for your interest in the position of Corporate Credit Manager at Islington Council. Islington has come a long way. In just two years Islington has gone from being ‘poor’ to ‘good’, and is now recognised as the fastest improving council in the country. Our services are now some of the best in London and we are working hard to make them even better. We understand a key factor in enhancing our services to our residents is making our business processes work smoothly and efficiently.
The role of Corporate Credit Manager is critical to our progress. We have introduced major improvements to our Credit Management Function over the last two years and our vision now is to be leading local authority in the UK in this field.
We have a ‘one debtor’ vision, whereby all customers debts can be seen in one place, and are then are collected in a co-ordinated and holistic way. Your role will be to make that vision a reality. At Islington we continue to be very ambitious in the improvements we seek and this role provides an opportunity for an exceptional candidate to take Islington Council and themselves to a position of excellence in the field of Credit Management.
