Our quality of life, and the nation's economy, depends on having energy to heat and light our homes and work places and to power our industry. An efficient transport system and the means of supplying water and dealing with waste are equally vital. Getting to decisions on this key national infrastructure in a way that is fast, efficient, transparent and fair is hugely important.
The new Infrastructure Planning Commission will be central to this as the body that will take decisions on applications for development consent for infrastructure proposals that are of national significance, based on clear statements of national policy set out by Government. If you are an enthusiastic and flexible professional who is interested in having a key role in shaping the new Commission from inception then please apply. The successful applicants will help the IPC to build a reputation for prompt and fair decisions, in which local communities and all concerned will have had the opportunity to make their views known.
These are uniquely important, challenging and rewarding opportunities, and we will be looking to appoint individuals with exceptional skills. We look forward to hearing from people with the experience, knowledge and ability needed to take on these roles.
