Founded in 1949, IAC has become the world’s largest provider of noise and acoustic control products, structures and test facilities.
Employing over 500 people in the IAC Group, IAC’s large and diverse product range includes everything from multi-engine test cells and hush houses to TV and radio studios, audiology rooms, enclosures for noisy machinery, road barriers, anechoic test rooms, acoustic doors and windows, air handling units (AHUs), air conditioning and power plant silencers and intake/exhaust systems for warships and luxury ferries. IAC even supplies rooms to schools for music practice and to the police for interviewing crime suspects.
IAC is an experienced and enthusiastic exporter, supplying equipment to over 50 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Pacific Rim, with manufacturing plants on four separate sites in the UK, France, Denmark and USA. IAC’s Global Headquarters are located in Winchester, UK, approximately 100km (70 miles) from London.
In addition to the facilities directly operated by the company, IAC has manufacturing partners in low-labour-cost countries in Eastern Europe and China. IAC also has a large network of technical sales engineers, agents and distributors, offering advice and assistance to customers around the world. Several of these manufacture IAC products under license.

Manufacturing and Process Industries
Our Silencers and Acoustic Enclosures provide noise reduction for manufacturing/process industries while our rugged Noise Barriers reduce noise pollution from factories, roads and railways.
Architectural
For excellent building acoustics, IAC Acoustic Walls, ‘Varitone’ Sound Absorption Panels and Acoustic Doors provide acoustic partitioning for convention centres, hotels and offices, while our Study Rooms, Music Practice Rooms and Recording Rooms are favourites of schools and universities.
Studios
Our modular Radio Studios, TV Studios, and video, post production and recording facilities perform to exacting acoustic specifications. We offer a turnkey supply: acoustic walls, floors, roofs, Acoustic Windows and Acoustic Doors, silenced air conditioning, lighting, carpeting and full decoration.
Medical & Life Sciences
Audiology Rooms for audiological and psycho-physiological examination and research. These range from Acoustic Booths, auscultation units, and ‘Mini-Booth’ Audiometric Testing Rooms to multi-room speech and hearing complexes.
Building Services
IAC’s ‘Quiet Duct’ Silencers, ‘Conic Flow’ Silencers and ‘Quiet Flow’ Plenums all control noise from air conditioning systems. ‘Quiet Vent’ Silencers allow conversational privacy, while the ‘Classvent’ sound attenuator is especially for schools. Cooling tower silencers, ‘Noishield’ Acoustic Louvres and Anti-Vibration Mounts for plant and equipment rooms are effective noise suppressors to reduce noise pollution. Low-noise Air Handing Units are ideal for fast-track construction projects.
Research and Development Laboratories
Our modular Soundproof Rooms, and Anechoic and Reverberation Chambers are used by manufacturers for product testing and development, for example as Automotive Test Facilities , and by universities and hospitals for scientific and medical research.
Construction Equipment
IAC manufactures sound reduction systems for portable air compressors, diesel generator sets (gensets), pneumatic drills and other applications to meet requirements of the Control of Pollution Act or other local legislation.
Gas Turbine Engines
We supply turnkey, noise-controlled air filtration packages for high-technology shipboard and land-based gas turbine engines. Our Power Plant Silencer systems for utilities and the chemical and oil industries. incorporate ‘Power-Flow’ Silencers and modular Acoustic Enclosures for gas turbine and diesel-engine operated power plants, offshore platforms, pipelines, compressors, transformers, blowdown valves and more.
Jet Engine Test Cells and Aircraft Run-Up Silencers
Jet Engine Test Cells and Aircraft Run-Up Silencers IAC Aviation designs, manufactures and installs Aero-Engine Test Facilities and Noise Suppression Systems for military and commercial aircraft. We supply Installed and Uninstalled test facilities including Hush Houses, and provide tailored support packages for a wide range of fixed and rotary wing aircraft engines. We are a specialist in Engine Test Cell refurbishments.
Sound Absorption Systems
Varitone and Noise-Foil Sound Absorptive Panels For Walls and Ceilings
A proven range of sound-absorbing modular panels for controlling noise and reducing distracting echo or reverberation inside buildings. They create an acoustically softer, more pleasant ambience and improve speech intelligibility. Available in thicknesses of 50mm and 100mm, and in lengths of up to 3660mm, the panels may be suspended from ceilings or simply attached to walls. Manufactured from rugged, abuse and fire resistant 0.76mm galvanised steel, Varitone is available in a wide range of attactive finishes including PPC and vinyl which are both hard-wearing and easy to clean.
IAC offers a full acoustical evaluation service to determine the correct position, size and quantity of panels required to achieve effective reverberation control in any given environment.
