Welcome to Hull Trinity House School and thank you for showing interest in our school.
We are a school that offers a modern education whilst at the same time maintaining, emphasising and celebrating our school’s history.
Our school is an 11-16 Voluntary Aided Boys school of 300 pupils and is situated in the very heart of Hull City centre. We are vastly oversubscribed (currently around 8 applicants per place). Our admissions criteria ensure however that we remain true to our origins of allowing access to students regardless of their ability or background.
The school is unique, steeped in history and tradition and has an outstanding reputation both locally and beyond the City of Hull. Trinity House is an integral part of Kingston upon Hull’s history.
Our “headline figures” are impressive for a non selective school. Last summer 83% of our students gained 5 or more GCSE’s at grades C or above; 64% of these included English and mathematics. However, we thrive on our belief that every child matters even when they do not help our headline figures. We are a truly inclusive school and continue to appropriately adapt to our changing cultural, social and diverse intake.
The school’s Governors are committed to ensuring that the school standards and expectations are maintained.
Working at Hull Trinity House School is both demanding and rewarding. The school requires staff that are flexible and appreciative of the issues that are specific to small secondary schools. For example sometimes teaching staff may need to teach outside of their subject specialisms whilst other staff may need to become involved in aspects of the school not directly linked to their role.
The school is fortunate to be fully staffed and when vacancies do arise it is always assured of a good level of interest and application from high calibre people. The current staffing of the school shows a good balance of gender and age.
