The Trust
Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is at the forefront of providing integrated health and social care. The Trust specialises in providing services for people with mental health problems and people with a learning disability who require specialist or forensic health care.
The Trust provides its services on the basis of need. Our purpose is to provide excellent services to help people make a positive difference to their lives. Our aspiration is “to become the leading provider of Mental Health and Specialist Learning Disability services in the country”.
HPFT’s services are provided predominantly for people within Hertfordshire, however some services extend to London and other regions. Recently the Trust has been successful in being awarded the tender for Specialist Learning Disability forensic assessment and treatment services in Norfolk.
The Trust has an outstanding track record of service delivery and quality. It is currently rated as “excellent” for quality of service provision and “good” for the Use of Resources by the Healthcare Commission as part of the Annual Health Check.
Financial Performance
Overall the Trust generated a surplus of £0.9m in 2007/08.
Our Trust Purpose – to deliver high-quality services – clinched our decision to apply to become a Foundation Trust, which we achieved in August 2007. Our reasons for wanting to be a Foundation Trust are directly linked to better quality care:
