Thank you for the interest you have shown in working for Herefordshire Council and to become part of our exciting ICT organisation.
The ICT Services division sits within this new directorate and provides a full and comprehensive range of ICT services delivered by a strong and highly skilled team. We are able to offer a variety of services to help Directorates and partners maximise their use of ICT. Herefordshire have recognicsed the role that technology can play in enhaced and effective service delivery and is putting the systems in place to enable the changes. Significant investestment is also being made to ensure not just the technology is in place but also the staff are developed and gain the new skills required.
Key business projects include:
- E-procurement
- CRM
- Info by Phone (a new coroprate contact centre)
- Performance Management
- Electronic Social Care Record
- Corporate Document Management
- Corporate GIS
- Service Improvement Programme including access to services
Key technical projects include:
- A new corproate voice and data network
- The introduction of new datacentre technology including Storage Area Networks
- The implementation of a standard desktop
- The introduction of exchange 2003 and Active Directory
Much good work has already been done on the council’s web platforms, with its Internet site currently ranked number 3 in the Local Government Websire Rankings, but further investment and work will be required. Working with some of the industries leading web technology companies the authority has plans for e-consultation; greater transactionalisation of council services via the web; and links to partner organisations across the county via the innovative e-Gateway project.
